The 25th Asia TV Forum & Market (ATF), Asia’s largest entertainment content marketplace, recently concluded in Singapore. The event brought together production companies, distributors, buyers, and investors from around the world to explore emerging business opportunities and industry trends.
During a roundtable focused on AIGC (AI-Generated Content), COL Group’s AI Anime Shorts made their debut, drawing attention from industry peers. Bryan Tan, CEO of COL WEB—COL Group’s Singapore-based subsidiary—shared in an interview with Lianhe Zaobao, “AI will inevitably impact traditional film and TV producers, but creators who sharpen their skills and focus on strong character-driven narratives will still outperform AI content.”
At the event, COL WEB signed a distribution agreement with Mediacorp, Singapore’s national media network, to bring 24 AI Anime Shorts to local audiences via its digital platform meWATCH.
In 2024, COL Group has already produced nearly 100 AI-assisted comics and animation titles, garnering over 3 billion cumulative views. Building on the convergence of animation and short-form storytelling, we are now preparing to launch our first AI Anime Shorts title, Vampire’s Wrath, which will debut on the Sereal+ platform for North American audiences.
By leveraging deep learning and style-transfer algorithms, Vampire’s Wrath successfully replicates the aesthetics of American animation—addressing long-standing localization challenges. The short integrates cinematic effects, fast-paced action, and fantasy elements that are often difficult to produce in live-action formats.
Traditional animation production is time-consuming and resource-intensive. AI enables significant efficiency gains across every stage of the pipeline—from scriptwriting and character design to animation rendering—allowing teams to respond quickly to market trends and viewer demand.
